St.Paddy's!!!!!!
Now St.Paddy's day is for most a celebration of drinking green beer and being Irish for a day. Those of us in the bar industry just look at it as our busiest day of the year...and the longest. I spent 18.77h working at the Bomber this Paddy's day. And, the sore legs aside, it was a kickass time. The band was awesome, playing classic irish/east coast music and Great Big Sea covers. The toughest part was hearing them play Barrett's Privateers and realizing that the last time I'd heard it was when Brent, Ed, Harden and I were drinking Keith's at the Lower Deck in Halifax.
Thudds (the boss himself) spent some time in the DJ booth playing some good ole rock'n'roll. It was like it used to be on Wednesday nights back in tha day - people gettin tight and rockin' out.
At some point I found enough time to eat some chicken fingers and some cold fries. From that point on it was just busy. There never was a lull during the day. When it felt like it should be the end of the night it was still only 11pm.
Now that was a party. If I ever got my own place, I want it to be like that. Good music, good people and no bullshit.
